This Article Covers Some Important Point that has to be
taken care while any user of a friction saw is :
A. Using Friction Saw.
B. Ordering Friction Saw
Friction Saw is particularly advisable when a clean cut is of importance.
Dee Tee
Friction Saws are designed for high speed cutting. They are manufactured
from Chrome -
Vanadium (Cr-V Steel).
Friction Saw operation is based on the strength of the frictional heat which
is generated
between the saw teeth and work piece when the saw runs at high speed. Cr-V
Steel retains
its toughness and has ability to resist the stresses of high operating
speeds. The most
suitable hardness is 40-44 HRC. Its edge retention quality is ensured by
closely
controlled heat treatment.
a. Precautions to be taken while using Friction Saw.
1. A round pipe should be cut downward directly from above, never be cut
horizontally. The saw teeth should be directed to the work piece at the most
suitable
angle when cutting a work piece.
2. It is advisable and necessary to regrind the teeth.
3. Friction Saw should be tightly fastened.
4. While re sharpening concentricity should be maintained.
B. For Ordering Friction Saw:
Please specify, outer diameter, bore driving holes, application, speed of
cut off unit.
All other dimensions and tolerances for Dee Tee Friction Saw have been
standardized.
