Punch type tube cut off system is the latest in the tube cutting technology and is now being widely used in US, Canadian and European markets. The technology is much faster and gives a burr-free cutting.

Tube is held in a jaw / bottom die and the  cut off knife moves up and down at high speed cutting the tube with an impact. Recommended tolerance on thickness of tube cut off knives is +/- 0.02 mm

Flatness, Hardness, Wear resistance, toughness, edge retention, and impact resistance are the parameters of prime importance for tube cut off knives.

The preferred material being High Speed Steel, when given correct heat treatment, gives hardness within +/- 1 HRC , ensuring exact sharpness, strength and wear resistance.

TIN coated knives have much better life. Ion bond Tin coating of 2/3 micron gives good hardness, low coefficient of friction, and corrosion resistance, which increases tool life by 2/3 times.
